Container components allow you to add other components (and containers) to it. Container components can also be configured with a layout to help control how its items are presented, which will be covered in the next chapter, dedicated to layouts. In this chapter, we will look at some core examples, such as the Container, Toolbar, Panel, and Window. Tooltips are also containers, so we will have a quick look at that. Other chapters will cover the popular and powerful GridPanel, TreePanel, and TabPanel.
A Container
is
the most basic of, well, Containers! It simply acts as a lightweight container without any fancy or sophisticated options compared to its various subclasses, such as Toolbar, Panel, Window, Tooltip, and more. The Container is often used in conjunction with a layout, which we will look at in the next chapter.
