Ext.NET Web Application Development
By :
In the previous chapter, we were introduced to Stores, Models, and Proxies. They are a central part of Ext JS and Ext.NET's data architecture, providing a clean separation of concerns between presentation and data storage, retrieval and modeling. We looked at some components that make use of it in the previous chapter, but left the popular GridPanel to be covered in its own chapter here. The GridPanel is incredibly versatile, and although this chapter cannot cover all the possibilities here, we will look at the following:
Overview of the GridPanel
Simple GridPanels
Column-types
AJAX-based proxies
Paging
Filtering
Sorting
Grouping
Column summaries
Master detail
Selection models
Grid editing
By the end of this chapter, you will gain an appreciation for the versatility of the GridPanel, which enables a rich experience for end users.
