The PrimeFaces team introduced the PrimeFaces Mobile project after considering the demand from the community and mobile market. Initially, it started as a separate project and continued being developed until version 0.9.4, which came with fewer components in a single JAR file. Later, the PrimeFaces team decided to merge the mobile version with the core PrimeFaces itself. The reason behind this decision is that compatibility issues arose when using the two different libraries. In PrimeFaces 5.0, the mobile version is merged with the core and reloaded with features such as Mobile RenderKit for PrimeFaces components, an integrated navigation model, mobile AJAX behavior events, AJAX framework extensions, the lazy loading of pages, responsive widgets, and so on.
