Introducing KQL's management commands
Just like SQL has its Data Manipulation Language (DML) and Data Definition Language (DDL), KQL has them both, and they are referred to as the KQL management commands. The management commands allow us to manage our clusters, databases, and tables. For example, we can create, modify, and delete tables, get insights into our cluster configuration, and more. In this section, we will learn about some of the most useful management commands KQL provides. We will first look at cluster and database management commands and then we will learn about table management commands.
Cluster management
The first set of commands we will learn about are the cluster management commands. These commands provide cluster configuration and diagnostic information, which is helpful when troubleshooting issues.
