MDM file locations and file system security


In this section, we discuss about the access control settings to the various folders created for each of the different types of servers in MDM that is MDIS, MDSS, MDLS, and MDS. On each of these servers the folders are always created under the following path in Windows: <Installation Drive>\usr\sap\<SAP SID>\<type of server><InstanceNumber>.

The following screenshot displays the various directories created for the MDS in Windows operating system:

These directories are created for each and every server type in the file system.

The folders for which operating system share access should be restricted are tabulated and are shown as follows:

Config

Stores the .ini files for the server.

Data

Stores cached data.

Exe

Stores the various binaries of the server application.

Accelerator (sub directory under MDM folder)

Stores the repositories' accelerator files.
