Working with MDM repositories


There are situations which require a new MDM repository to be created or an existing repository to be completely removed from an MDM server. In this section, we will deal with the various ways of creation and deletion of an MDM repository.

First, let us take a look at how we can create an MDM repository on the server.

Creating an MDM repository

There are fundamentally two ways in which you can create an MDM repository. They are:

  • Creating a default repository

  • Creating a repository from an archive

Note

Creating an MDM repository is a password-protected operation that requires entering the MDM server password unless already specified during the current session.

We will discuss in detail each of these two listed ways of a creating an MDM repository next.

Creating a default repository

When you create an MDM repository in this manner, MDM includes a default set of tables and fields in the newly created repository. These default tables and fields are listed next:
