Working with Cell Statistics

ArcGIS Spatial Analyst classifies the statistical functions in three basic groups: local, neighborhood, and zonal. In this recipe, you will work with the Local Cell Statistics tool. The Cell Statistics function compares the corresponding cells in two or more raster datasets and calculates descriptive statistics, such as: Majority, Mean, Median, or Standard Deviation.

Getting ready

In the previous recipe, Working with Map Algebra, you have updated the LandUse raster dataset with new forest and fruit orchard sites. In this recipe, you will compare the LandUse raster created in 2010 with the LandUse_2015 raster created in 2015.
