The net package

The net package of the Go Standard Library is all about TCP/IP, UDP, domain name resolution, and UNIX domain sockets. The net.Dial() function is used to connect to a network as a client, whereas the net.Listen() function is used to tell a Go program to accept incoming network connections and thus act as a server. The return value of both net.Dial() and net.Listen() is of the net.Conn data type, which implements the io.Reader and io.Writer interfaces—this means that you can both read and write to a net.Conn connection using code related to file I/O.
