Launching the MDM Console


This section quickly gets you up and running in the MDM Console.

Before jumping in and getting our hands dirty, let us recap what is the MDM Console:

MDM Console is the administrative tool for monitoring MDM Servers, creating and maintaining the structure of MDM repositories as well as managing the repository access control for all users.

So the Console is used for the administrative tasks of MDM such as:

  • Mounting/unmounting the MDM servers

  • Loading/unloading the MDM repositories

  • Archiving and unarchiving the repository

  • Data modeling

  • User and role management

  • Enforcing access control

  • Verifying integrity of repositories

  • Change tracking

Use the MDM Console to perform these steps before accessing an MDM repository:

  1. 1. Mount the MDM server.

  2. 2. Start the MDM server.

  3. 3. Create a new MDM repository or unarchive an already existing MDM repository.

  4. 4. Mount the MDM repository in the Console.

  5. 5. Load the MDM repository.
