Appropriating an MDM repository


MDM repositories can be mounted on multiple MDM servers (running on the same DBMS server) but each repository can be loaded only by one MDM server at a time. Remotely running repositories appear with an icon as shown:

Remotely loaded repositories become available once they are unloaded in the other MDM server. However, if the MDM server is shut down with the loaded repository, the repository will still be unavailable even though it's not used by the remote server.

The Appropriate command resets the repository's state to unloaded, so that it can be loaded by another MDM server.

Note

Repositories should be appropriated only after confirming if they aren't being run on any other MDM server. This can be known by mounting the corresponding MDM server and checking its repository tree.

After the Appropriate command, the MDM repository takes a minute or two to entirely release its connection from the MDM server on which it was loaded. Hence, any change in the repository...
