Using the Clock app

The Clock app can show you the current time. When you open the Home screen on your iPhone, you can view the current time either at the top of the screen (which displays the time in digital format, such as 8:43 AM) or in the Clock app itself (which displays time in analog format, showing an hour and minute hand on a clock face).

The Clock app can do more than just display the current time. Its five features include the following:

  • World Clock: Tracks time in different time zones
  • Alarm: Sets one or more alarms so that your iPhone can alert you at a specific time
  • Bedtime: Defines a time to sleep and wake up
  • Stopwatch: Tracks the amount of time that has elapsed
  • Timer: Defines a time interval to count down from, such as 5 minutes

You may not need all of these features, but chances are good that you'll likely want to use one or more of these features when carrying your iPhone one day.
