Technical requirements

There are a few prerequisites we need to cover before we start exploring chatbots in Teams. Let's take a quick look at what you will need to complete this chapter:

  • To use Power Virtual Agents in Teams, you will need an Office 365 subscription (Microsoft 365 Business, Office 365 E3, or Office 365 E5) with the Microsoft Teams license enabled. You will also need access to the Power Virtual Agents app in Teams
  • You will also need access to the Power Virtual Agents app in Teams.

With those requirements met, you ready to begin building!

Building a bot

To start building the Event Bot, we need to add the Power Virtual Agents app to Teams:

  1. Open the Microsoft Teams desktop or web client.
  2. Click Apps at the bottom left of the rail.
  3. Search for and select Power Virtual Agents:
