Types of meetings in Microsoft Teams

The Microsoft Teams hub, as a tool for collaboration and communication, allows users to connect with each other via instant messaging or video meetings to get their work done in a productive manner. Different projects or initiatives may call for different types of meetings. Therefore, in Microsoft Teams, there are three different types of meetings that serve different purposes for a number of scenarios.

In this section, we will discuss the three types of Microsoft Teams meetings:

  • Scheduled: In this meeting type, all involved parties decide to meet at a previously agreed time.
  • Ad hoc: In this meeting type, all involved parties get together at the last minute, with no previously agreed time.
  • Channel: In this meeting type, all team members in a team are automatically invited and will have access to any content from the meeting, whether it is before, during, or after.
