In this chapter, you learned about the differences between iBGP and eBGP, mainly that an iBGP network would need to have a full mesh or create neighbor relationships with all the other iBGP routers because they are all in the same AS.

If we use eBGP, the AS is a part of the path, so there is no need to configure an IGP, such as RIP, to create the routing table. BGP is the routing protocol of choice to get to remote networks.

Now that we have discussed BGP and configured it, it is time to create an access list to secure our network. In the next chapter, we will be discussing the rules and how to create ACLs.
