Time for action - uploading an image


First, make sure you have an image that fits the guidelines (the right format and file size). Keep in mind, in this exercise, we are only uploading an image file. We will learn how to insert the image file into a page on our wiki in the next exercise.

If you are following along but don't have the type of media files needed for these exercises, go to Wikimedia Commons, http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page, to find media files that fall under licensing options that you can freely use on your site. Many of the files used in this book can be found here as well.

  1. 1. From the toolbox, click on the Upload file link. You will see a page as shown in the following screenshot:
