The final piece of an HTML5 page layout is usually a <footer>
element. Early in this chapter, when we walked through standard HTML5 page coding, we noted the <footer>
element (along with <header>
elements and others have the display:block
attribute assigned to them). That attribute, which prevents other content from "sharing" the horizontal row on which the footer content is displayed, is pretty much the main, and only essential formatting element required for footer.
Beyond that, you can apply features such as height, background color, and so on by defining a CSS Style rule for the <footer>
element. Do that by clicking on the New CSS Rule icon at the bottom of the CSS Styles Panel.
