A popular feature of the grid is its inline editing capability. There are two main ways that the grid can be edited inline as follows:
Cell editing
Row editing
Cell editing lets you click onto a cell and start editing. You have keyboard support to tab to additional fields, which will then switch into editing mode automatically (assuming the fields in those columns are also editable). This can be useful if you want to allow many cells from many rows to be edited and then update in one pass. (You also have the option to save each edit as you go, if you want.)
Row editing lets you make an entire row go into edit mode with Update and Cancel buttons that appear below the highlighted row. This can be useful if your server accepts a row of edits at any one time.
Both are enabled in two general steps as follows:
Configure the columns you want to be editable.
Use the appropriate plugin based on the editing style you need.
