The focus of this chapter has been as much about planning as it is about action. Developing a good plan, executing it, and then following up will be your keys to a successful SCRM implementation. As all good things take time, take yours during these 10 initial steps:
Decide whether or not you will need professional assistance.
Create a system rollout plan.
Define your processes and plan for your training.
Create any needed custom fields for your SCRM.
Create user accounts and establish permissions for each.
Connect e-mail, calendar, and social networks for each of your users.
Decide what reports you will need and what each should include.
Prepare and then import your existing data from your current system.
Test, evaluate, and troubleshoot these imports. Make corrections as they are necessary.
Train your users beginning with your system administrator(s) first.
We do not make any recommendations for specific SCRM systems in this book due to the fact that every small business has unique needs...
