Customizing the look of your notebook and creating notes faster

A great way to customize the look of your OneNote notebook is to change the background of the notebook page you are working on. You can change the page color or add lines to the notebook page.

Let's start by changing the page color.

Changing the page color of your notebook page

When you change the color of a notebook page, you are giving that page a different look. You can color-code your pages. For instance, all the meeting notes are in blue, and meeting agenda pages are in green. At a glance, you will immediately know what note page you are on and what it is about.

Follow these steps to change the background of your page to a new color:

  1. Click on the View menu.
  2. Select Page Color from the View toolbar.
  3. There are 16 colors shown in the drop-down menu, but you can choose more colors if you wish. To start with the colors provided, click on one of the colors shown.
