You will want to sit down with this individual(s) and have very detailed discussions regarding your overall vision and their role in presenting that to your team. Discuss with them why you are considering this investment and what your expectations (of your team and of the company) will be, that is, short, medium, and long term. This person will be your partner in this process, so having an open and honest dialogue is a must. Encourage them to poke whatever holes that they might find in your reasoning and future plans.

On that subject, if this person is not yourself (the owner), you will want to make sure that everyone within your organization is aware that this individual is your choice to head up this initiative, that they have your full support, and that they will be speaking as you in this matter.
