SSL certificates for Horizon View


From View 5.1 onwards, VMware introduced the use of certificates for the Horizon View components, which means that the connection server, security server, and so on need to have a certificate installed.

For this book, we are going to assume that for a production environment, you already have either a certificate of authority installed or are using a third-party certificate. However, if you are running a proof of concept or pilot in isolation from your production infrastructure, then in the next few sections, we will briefly cover how to set up certificates.

Tip

It is recommended that you already have a certificate installed on the server that will be used as your connection server prior to installing the connection server software and also have a Public CA for the security server.
