Creating a Local Computer Certificates console


The Local Computer Certificates MMC console will be used to replace the certificate on the View Connection, Security, and Composer Servers. The console will also be used to convert the certificate for the View Transfer Server to a Personal Information Exchange (PKCS#12 or PFX) format.

Note

As with the IIS console, it is not necessary to create this console on each of the View servers. The same console can be created on a remote server and, in step 5 in the following procedure, a remote connection is made rather than a local one.

  1. From the Windows Start menu, open the Microsoft Management Console by searching for and opening the mmc.exe application.

  2. In the MMC console window, open the File menu and select Add/Remove Snap-in to open the Add or Remove Snap-ins window.

  3. In the Available snap-ins section of the Add or Remove Snap-ins window, select Certificates and click on Add to open the Certificates snap-in window.
