In this chapter, we have been introduced to the VMware Horizon View Transfer Server, a feature of View that provides organizations with even more options and use cases for deploying Virtual Desktops. We have learned what is required to deploy and configure a View Transfer Server, what the limits of a Transfer Server are, and where the Transfer Server fits in within the View Infrastructure.
We also discussed which components of the Transfer Server need to be backed up, namely the files related to the SSL certificates and the Transfer Server repository.
We concluded this chapter by discussing how to restore both the View Transfer Server and Transfer Server repository.
In the next chapter, we will implement View Security Server, the component of a View installation that enables secure remote access to View desktops.
