Chapter 13. Implementing VMware Horizon View Group Policies

VMware Horizon View includes six Microsoft Active Directory Group Policy templates to enable the customization of various aspects of the View environment. The templates focus on the View Agent, Client, Server, PCoIP settings, and Persona Management settings within View. Of these configuration items, only Persona Management requires the use of Group Policies in order to enable the feature. The remaining configuration items will all function without any changes of any kind, although most organizations will use one or more of the templates in order to fine-tune various aspects of their View environment.

These templates are provided in the Administrative Template (ADM) format, which allows them to be imported into an Active Directory Group Policy template. In this section, we will learn about each of the templates, their general purpose, and what settings are contained within each.
