Design Studio architecture

Depending on the need and use case, SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio can be used both locally and integrated in the BI platform. If we need the application just for evaluation/prototype purposes, we can create it in local mode. However, for a productive solution, we have to switch to the BI platform by adding data sources.

The prerequisite for using a BI platform server is that the Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) data source connection to the SAP HANA system or to the SAP NetWeaver BW systems containing business data should be created.
