This chapter primarily explores the skeleton tracking capability of the Kinect for Windows SDK. In order to completely grasp the different facets of human body movement and their implications on developing motion-oriented applications, it's essential to get a thorough understanding of human skeleton tracking. In this chapter we have delved deep into the functioning of Kinect skeleton tracking, not only in terms of the API, but we have also explored one of the most interesting parts of how Kinect sensors work internally to track human skeletons. Our approach towards covering the intricacies of the various APIs that support skeleton tracking has been even more comprehensive and detailed.
