Installation prerequisites


There are a number of prerequisites that should be addressed prior to installing View Composer:

  • At least one configured View Connection Server with a license key installed

  • An Active Directory user account or security group that will be granted the necessary permissions within Microsoft Active Directory and the vCenter Server

  • A dedicated Windows 2008 R2 host server for View Composer or an existing vCenter Server that has 2008 R2 as the host OS

  • A Static IP address for the dedicated View Composer host server (required only if you are using a dedicated server)

  • Local administrator access on the host server

  • A supported View Composer database as referenced in Chapter 1, Designing a VMware Horizon View Infrastructure

  • A 64-bit ODBC connection to the View Composer database configured on the View Composer host server
