Advertising promotions and discount offers may seem like the most obvious and easiest way to increase the number of customers and orders to increase the turnover of an online store.
This is because even though the customers may get a better price on certain products or services during the promotion period, or buy products at a discounted price, it doesn't mean the online store will start losing profits if it runs a promotion campaign or allows customers to buy certain products at a discounted rate. The profitability level may be affected of course, and the relative amount of profit compared to the turnover per period might get decreased, but profit figures will most probably go up when running a properly planned promotion campaign.
