Printing effects on clips using AudioSuite

AudioSuite in Pro Tools allows you to add effects and other utilities to audio clips within a timeline. These can be the stock plugins that come with Pro Tools or third-party ones added after the fact. While creating effects for sounds is typically saved for the mix phase after the clips are edited, some effects can only be done by printing them with AudioSuite. All changes made with AudioSuite are destructive in nature. In many situations, it’s a good idea to preserve the original audio before any effects are applied in case you want to make changes later. Often, choices made to a sound are fine in isolation, but in the context of a mix are not the best choices and need rethinking and redoing. For this reason, we’ll be going through the process of duplicating and muting the original audio before printing an AudioSuite effect.
