Stretching clips with Elastic Audio

Elastic audio is super powerful in the motion picture realm. It provides the ability to stretch and shorten the timing of a clip but does so in a non-destructive way. Instead of using AudioSuite and Time Shift, you can dynamically adjust the timing of clips according to how you want directly on the timeline. This can be used to adjust the timing of dialogue that was recorded in an alternate take, or in ADR. This can also be used to adjust the timing of effects or music. Elastic audio usually is applied in a manner that’s somewhat transparent (to a degree), but it can also be used with Varispeed to slow down and speed up the pitch of tracks for creative purposes. All this can be experimented with and tested in a way that doesn’t add additional artifacts through iteration, and can all be reverted easily as well thanks to its non-destructive nature.
