It is often in the evaluation phase that mistakes happen and these mistakes usually surface later as challenging problems for the UC project. In the previous chapter we have seen the term Request for Proposal (RFP) under the evaluation phase. However, before we can put together an RFP document, we must first find out what the company's business and technical requirements and the communication and collaboration strategy looks like.
Most companies conduct a survey of their staff and management to find out the satisfaction level of their current IT and communication platform as well as what they would like to have in the new solution based on their needs and preferences. Some other companies already have a "new" communication and collaboration strategy in place and are already aware of requirements for an adequate UC solution and project.
