Configuring a task


In the previous chapter, we discussed the creation of tasks in Workflow Manager and Task Developer. After we create a task, we can configure the options on the General tab of every task as shown in the following screenshot:

Every task has similar properties related to controlling Workflow in the General tab. Following options are available in General Tab.

  • Fail parent if this task fails: When you check this option, the workflow or worklet will fail if the task in that workflow or worklet fails
  • Fail parent if this task does not run: When you check this option, the workflow or worklet will fail if the task in that workflow or worklet does not run
  • Disable this task: When you check this option, the task in the workflow or worklet will become invisible and it will not run in the sequence
  • Treat input link as AND or OR: When you check this option, Informatica PowerCenter will run the task if all or one of the input link conditions becomes true
