Summary

This chapter showed you how the animation system of CryENGINE and CryMannequin work in detail. The concepts behind the system were explained, and it was demonstrated why this system can be very powerful.

You learned how to extend the state machine that controls the animation selection and were introduced to alternative methods of starting and handling animations.

The next chapter will introduce the Smart Object system and teach you how to use it to build a gameplay and enrich your AI characters' behaviors.
