Adding post-processing effects to a scene can boost a game's visuals and greatly enhance the perceived quality of a game. For example, it is very common to work with bloom, blur, and color warping effects like negative colors.
These effects are a very common sight in video games, which is the reason why the Panda3D developers added them to the engine.
