Deleting read replicas

Removing a read replica is the same process as we did for the standalone DB instance. You can use the Remove-RDSDBInstance cmdlet. You have the option to initiate the final snapshot before you delete the read replica.

PS C:\> Remove-RDSDBInstance -DBInstanceIdentifier "mywebappprdrr02" -SkipFinalSnapshot $true

If this is the only read replica for the primary, then the primary instance master role will be removed by this operation.
