Summary

Reporting is essential to every type of business, as data is essential to make better, more informed decisions. That being said, once you understand what you need, it is easy to work backward and build the foundation needed to support the expected flow of data and information.

However, it isn't always easy to decipher which reports are needed early in a project. The main goal of building an effective reporting system is to focus on revenue reporting. Whenever in doubt, try to ensure your reports either directly contribute to revenue goals or, at the very least, tell the story of how they contribute.

In the next chapter, we will take a look at the evolution of inbound marketing and understand which is really more effective, inbound or outbound marketing.
