Performance tuning the system


The real goal of monitoring is so that you can understand what good performance metrics are and begin to tune your system to hit those. One of the biggest roles of a Cognos administrator is keeping the environment running, and running quickly. This can be a challenge for a number of reasons. Some of the most common causes of performance issues are there not being enough RAM, there not being enough CPUs, a misconfigured environment, too many users, too large a Cognos Content Store, and many more.
