Keyboard shortcuts

The first method for automation we will discuss is to assign a keyboard shortcut to your task. Keyboard shortcuts are a combination of keystrokes on your keyboard that, when pressed, will perform some assigned Word command. Keyboard shortcuts are faster than using your mouse. As I mentioned earlier, every time you take your hands off your keyboard to move to your mouse, you are adding valuable seconds to your workflow. Keyboard shortcuts keep your hands on your keyboard and allow you to stay close to where you need to be for many Word processing tasks.

Word comes preloaded with common keyboard shortcuts already. For example, Ctrl + S will save your document, Ctrl + C will copy selected text, and Ctrl + V will paste the copied text. However, what many users of Word do not know is how to customize their keyboard shortcuts.
