Summary

In this chapter, we spent a great deal of time learning about lists in Word. We saw how to create bulleted, numbered, and multilevel lists. Then, we looked at how to apply different bullets or numbers to a list, and how to define new bullets and numbers. We also explored how to define a new multilevel list and how to change its number style and format. Next, we explored how to change the indents in a list, as well as how to continue list numbering or change the numbering value in a list.

In the next section, we learned how to display the word count in a document and how we could view other statistics kept by Word. This included statistics such as the number of characters, with or without spaces, how many paragraphs, and how many lines are in the document.

Every Word document contains hidden formatting characters and in the next section, we showed you how to reveal those hidden characters by using the Show/Hide button. We also saw examples of some of the most common...
