Summary

In this chapter, we have taken a close look at the Spotfire map chart, which allows you to plot your data in a spatial context and create interactive marker layers and feature layers, as well as reference maps, WMSes, TMSes, and image layers.

You have learned how to create a background map layer, how to use automatic geocoding to accurately position locations from your data on a map, how to incorporate and use a feature layer, how to add WMS data to a map chart, how to use custom tiles for the map background, and how to use the map chart for non-geographic spatial analysis.

Additionally, we have explored the usage of TIBCO Enterprise Runtime for R. We used a TERR data function to assist with geocoding some data.
