Alerting in Spotfire

TIBCO has released an alerting extension for Spotfire—this tool provides conditional alerting on any data. It will send alerts by email or by triggering some custom IronPython code (for example, to send an SMS message or call a web service) if preconfigured conditions occur in your data.

The tool has a number of rule types. The one that's used most often is a simple threshold rule, which is configured from an existing visualization. It also supports the IronPython or Spotfire data function (TERR, R, Python, and so on) rules.

When an alert has been configured, end users of the analysis file can subscribe or unsubscribe to/from the alert. The subscription tool is available for Spotfire Analyst and Spotfire web clients.
