Natural language search

Spotfire X supports natural language searchyou can use this feature to ask questions of your data or even to build visualizations or navigate the Spotfire user interface. You can type almost anything into the search box in Spotfire. Depending on what you type, it will do the following:

  • Recommend visualizations or relationships in your data. For example, you could type show me price, or what are my sales?.
  • Add data to markings. If we go back to the example of AirBnB data in Chapter 9, What's Your Location?, we could search for QueensSpotfire will mine the data in all the columns and suggest that it should mark all rows for Queens.
  • Navigate to visualizations that we've already createdjust start typing the title of a visualization or a page, and Spotfire will present a range of options to you.
