TIBCO Data Virtualization

I already mentioned TIBCO Data Virtualization in Chapter 7, Source Data is Never Enough. It's an extremely useful tool for using with Spotfire—if you need to perform involved manipulation of data or work with slow data sources, if Spotfire doesn't support your underlying data source, or if you need to separate your Analytics data model from your underlying transactional data, then TIBCO Data Virtualization is a great choice!

Data Virtualization doesn't create a copy of the data. It exposes a virtual database to clients, such as Spotfire. Clients can then query the virtual data model and take advantage of Data Virtualization's intelligent querying, joining, and caching algorithms.

Spotfire has a native Data Virtualization connector.
