Building a scatter plot with real-world data

Before we can begin building the scatter plot, we need to collect the data that we will use to build it. We need two datasets, one with population information and another with country and region information.

Gathering population data

As we stated previously in the Technical requirements section, the population data for this chapter is available at the Our World In Data website. The data that we will be using pertains to two specific topics: fertility and population growth and child mortality and population growth. Let's look at how to gather this data:
