Product-level customizations

Product-level design customization in the Admin Panel is quite simple, as there is not much to cover, except the layout XML configuration files. I will start with the product editing form in the Admin Panel.

Product-related storefront configuration

When you edit a product in the Admin Panel, there are only two sections that can alter the appearance of the product page:

  • Schedule Update, which explained at the beginning of this chapter.
  • Design tab with three settings (four settings in the AC version):

  • Theme

AC (the paid version of Magento) only. Allows you to apply a theme for a specific product.
  • Layout

The list in the dropdown will be filled with values defined in the page_layout/*.xml files.
