Along the way, you will learn how to use advanced Electron APIs, debug an Electron application, and make performance improvements using the Chrome developer tools. You’ll also find out how to package and distribute an application, and more.

By the end of the book, you will be able to build a complete desktop application using Electron and web technologies. Summary

We discussed how to create an Electron application using Angular 2 from scratch. We started by discussing our sample application and went through the technical stack that we are using in this book. We then successfully ran the Electron application using Angular 2 in the renderer process. Most of this chapter discussed the setting up and running of an Angular application. Though this book is about Electron it's essential to use one front end framework with Electron when developing large-scale applications. We have one more chapter focused on front end technology, and this will focus on developing a user interface for our application. There are some points to be noted when using Electron with front end frameworks:

 • Always use the best available tools and frameworks as Electron won't restrict you on the choice of framework.
 • Use any of the module bundlers if you are using Angular 2, React, or any other libraries.
 • Serve the file to Electron from a local web server at the development stage...
