Blending Modes in Adobe Substance 3D Designer

In digital image editing and computer graphics, blend modes (also known as blending modes or mixing modes) are used to control how two layers are merged with one another. In most applications, the bottom layer (Background Input in Substance 3D Designer) is simply covered by whatever is in the upper layer (Foreground Input in Substance 3D Designer) as the usual blend mode. Nevertheless, there are many alternative methods to mixing two layers because each pixel has a numerical value.

On a per-pixel level, the mix operation in Substance 3D Designer is similar to any other math operation. It takes one pixel each from two photos and performs a mathematical operation on them to produce an output. If a pixel is given a value of 0.5, adding it would produce 0.5 + x. The Blend node only produces values between 0 and 1.
