Summary
In this chapter, we talked about the skills that are required to be effective at testing. This includes recognizing when something will bother people, reporting on those problems well, using numbers to tell a compelling story, and making projections.
The “change” piece of testing is often overlooked. Without it, testing is just “the thing we need to do so that we can put the software in production.” Another often overlooked element of testing is the test data. In the next chapter, we’ll explain why test data is important, and then provide you with some strategies to collect and manage your test data in ways that will roll with change, eliminate false errors, and reduce debugging time.
