Chapter 5. Your First VR App

Well, four chapters of background. Hopefully you just skimmed the last chapter, although I expect you'll be looking at it quite a bit, or the online documentation, as you build each of your worlds. Now that you have this background, we are well prepared to build the first React VR app. We will start by diving deep into React VR components, props, and states.

You'll learn the following topics:

  • Initial world creation/laying down the React VR framework
  • Setting up a good background image
  • How to fix background images so they are truly equirectangular
  • Adding VR components
  • Creating new VR keywords (class construction)
