Working with Text and Shapes in Affinity Photo
So far in this course, we have dealt with the idea of image editing and largely ignored the role of design in the editing space, but now is the time when we will stretch outside of what we think of as traditional editing and dip a toe into the pool of design. When the discussion turns to design, two elements of Affinity Photo come into play that have yet to be discussed in depth: the elements of shapes and text. Shapes and text are used in conjunction with photos to create things such as magazine layouts, print pieces for advertising, and the ever-popular cultural phenomenon that is the meme.
In this chapter, we will look at shapes and text as they relate to the artistic application of the elements, not the design of elements, so what is the difference?
